The Logistics of an ICANN Meeting – Paris 2008

Between 1200 and 1500 people attend each ICANN meeting.

A few months ago I had a look over the documents provided to potential hosts to get some idea of the requirements and it was quite scary on some levels.

The organisers of next year’s Paris meeting have been sharing some of the details (in French), though they still haven’t finalised the actual venue (not that I’m complaining – both possibles are fine by me!)

Even with ICANN’s support the hosts have to raise up to half a million euro in sponsorship etc., to make it all happen!

I’ll be following their preparations closely …
