Nominet, the UK domain registry, has been investigating how to handle the release of short domain names ie. 1 and 2 character domains.
While a number of short names had been registered prior to the formation of Nominet there are still a large number that have not been assigned.
Nominet has now announced the process for the assignment of the short names, as well as a full list of them.
