IEDR Launch Why.ie and Celebrate 150k Names Registered

Last Thursday evening the IEDR officially launched why.ie which has been setup as a neutral resource for potential registrants of .ie domain names.

The event also saw the announcement of the 150 thousandth .ie domain name, which was localcomputerrepair.ie.

Speaking at the event David Curtin, IEDR CEO, stated:

“We’re delighted to have passed the 150,000th mark for .ie domain registrations. It’s testament to the .ie namespace’s reputation as one of the most trusted and secure in the world that businesses in Ireland want to make .ie a feature of their brand and online identity. I would like to thank and congratulate our registrars, who have been the driving force in growing .ie registrations and helping us achieve this milestone.”
