Centralnic, the company that runs .uk.com and other extensions, is now an ICANN accredited registrar.
They don’t appear to be listed on the IANA site yet or on the ICANN list of accredited registrars, however ICANN has informed registry operators of the accreditation, so expect their name to appear there soon.

If you look closely you’ll find that they have more than 30 accreditations – quite a lot more.
Why?
I’m not 100% sure. I suspect that it might be due to the number of EPP connections each registrar is allowed, though that limit was increased

More then 30 ? looks like overkill but they prolly have their reasons for good reasons.
“CentralNic Registrar” seems to have been listed on ICANN’s registrar list for several months. Is that the same entity?

I couldn’t find it listed when I looked the other day and the registries were only informed about the accreditation shortly before I posted the article. Under normal circumstances the registries are informed of accreditation the same day as they happen

I had assumed ICANN only added new registrars to the bottom of the list.
In this case, row 1564 appears to have been empty until CentralNic took the slot this week. Perhaps it took ICANN longer to process the accreditation than registrars 1565-1600…?

They assign IANA IDs sequentially. The only exception is DomainTheNet which has a really high number. I suspect that they assign the number when the application is almost accepted, but they don’t publish until it is finalised, so it’s possible that there could be a delay

Please could somebody tell me who ran CentralNic, before Nov 21, 2011.
I have a trademark dispute, that was purchased via Enom and they refer me to CentralNic.
Having looked at IANA ‘root’ the closest I cam to .uk.com, was .com managed by VeriSign. VeriSign told me that Network Solutions manage CentralNic, however, Network Solutions deny a relationship. In the Whois, CentralNic, is registered by Network Solutions.
If somebody could help me figure out who licensed CentralNic, to sell Domain names, via Enom, I’d be delighted for the info.

Centralnic sell subdomains, which is what could be causing confusion.
So, for example, if someone had trademark.uk.com then Network Solutions etc., wouldn’t know about it. You need to talk to Centralnic directly
