Since then the .pw team have been quite active.
The new registry site is now live and includes information about the launch, with the dates of the various periods ie. sunrise, landrush and general availability.
Their IANA entry was also updated earlier today to include the new whois server, though it will probably take a few weeks or even months before a lot of whois software clients pick up on the changes. Currently any attempt to do a whois returns an error message:
whois: pw.whois-servers.net: nodename nor servname provided, or not known
It’ll be interesting to see how much demand and interest there is around this launch.
