ICANN’s compliance team have been kept busy this week.
They’ve issued 3 breach notices to registrars:
- Virtucom Networks S.A – for non-payment of fees
- Telefonica Brasil S.A. – for non-payment of fees.
- Black Ice Domains, Inc – for not paying their fees. Judging by the details in the letter ICANN has been going back and forth with them on this since last summer.
Of the three registrars the one that really stands out is Telefonica Brasil SA, as they’re part of one of the largest phone companies in the world.
The Telefonica group includes brands such as O2, Telefonica, Movistar and Vivo.
As they proudly announce on their site they’re:
Present in 24 countries and an average of 130,000 professionals. Consolidated revenues of 42,626 million euros and more than 320,3 million customer at September 2013
So they’re a huge company globally.
The Brazilian subsidiary owes ICANN USD$3,737.72 and has so far failed to pay.
