This year there are two seats up for election as non-executive directors of Nominet, the .uk registry.
Nora Nanyakara is stepping down, as is Clive Grace.
So of the existing roster of non-executive directors the only one standing for re-election is Dickie Armour
There are several other candidates running, so at least Nominet’s members will have choice.
The candidates are:
- Dickie Armour
- Paul Barnett
- Rob Golding
- Volker Greimann
- Phil Kingsland
- David Thornton
As mentioned Dickie has been on the board for a couple of years already. Phil Kingsland used to work for Nominet in their marketing and communications and I gather has been in the internet sector since his departure.
Rob Golding is an “old hand” and has been active in the UK internet community for years.
Volker Greimann is legal counsel with Key Systems, who are a large German registrar. He’s currently co-Chair of ICANN’s GNSO council.
