Internet Society Hiring Policy Adviser for Brussels

The Internet Society is advertising a job opening on their policy team. The position, which would be based in Brussels, is as a “Policy Adviser”.

Applicants will need to be qualified and experienced with candidates need to tick all the boxes on the the criteria they’ve provided:

Master-level qualification in International Relations, public policy, political science, law or related field and/or 1-3 years’ relevant public policy experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with public policy issues, in particular ICT policy and Internet governance topics.
Understanding of international public policy development and strong familiarity with international and intergovernmental organizations.
Special interest and experience in Internet growth and trends in emerging markets and developing countries.
Experience and confidence necessary to represent the Internet Society effectively and professionally in international public policy forums.
Capacity to work in a multicultural environment and to work effectively across different departments.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English a must. Proficiency in at least one additional language is desirable.
Familiarity and comfort with Internet-based communication and work tools and working in active on-line communication environments.
The willingness and ability to travel extensively.
