CENTR has published its Q1 2019 statistics report. The report covers domain statistics in both ccTLDs and gTLDs and the overall results aren’t terribly positive. While there is light at the end of the tunnel some of the headline figures make for quite depressing reading:
- The median domain growth of all TLDs has hit a record low of 3.4% year on year
- New gTLDs have less than 10% of the overall market
- In Europe the median growth across ccTLDs is at a mere 1.9% year on year
The report is also incorporating data from Cisco’s Umbrella network which gives insights into domain usage and popularity beyond more traditional metrics that registries would have used with a focus on pure registration and renewal data.
