CENTR have released a video which explains the role of domain name registries in relation to illegal content. It also goes into different types of content.
It’s worth a watch, as most of the points they highlight are applicable to all domain names:
CENTR’s Policy Advisor, Polina Malaja, highlighted that:
“Any measures taken at the internet infrastructure level in relation to the availability of online content need to be necessary, proportionate and based on an appropriate legal basis. This is due to the fact that the deeper one goes into the infrastructure stack to address online content, the greater the risks for collateral unwanted consequences on affected individuals and legitimate services”.
