PIR Adds Multiple Domain Extensions to Portfolio
PIR, the company that runs the .org domain extension, has announced that it is to expand its portfolio of domain extensions. Up until now PIR ran .org which is one of the oldest and best established top level domains. More recently they added both .ngo and .ong, which were meant to serve the NGO sector though take-up hasn't been exactly "amazing" with just over 4 thousand names … [Read more...] about PIR Adds Multiple Domain Extensions to Portfolio
PIR (.org) Hiring CTO
PIR aka the .org registry, is hiring for the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Up until 2018 PIR did not have a CTO, which is when they hired DNS veteran Joe Abley to fill the role. There … [Read more...] about Warren and Other US Senators Weigh in on .Org Sale

This week at the IGF in Berlin one of the hot topics being discussed both in hallways and various sessions is the sale of PIR by ISOC. ISOC CEO Releases Statement on .Org Sale
ISOC's CEO Andrew Sullivan has put out a statement on the sale of .org which tries to address the points raised by the Save Dot Org campaigners. The statement addresses the concerns about pricing, rights protection mechanisms as well as how ISOC ended up running .org in the first place. It's worth a read, though it's clear from some of the very passionate interventions … [Read more...] about ISOC CEO Releases Statement on .Org Sale
