On Monday June 25th, as part of the Prague ICANN meeting, there is a slot on the schedule for the "CEO Farewell Reception". Rod Beckstrom will be leaving ICANN. This is not news. CIRA To Go Offline For 24 Hours

CIRA, the .ca registry, is taking their entire registry offline except for resolution services for 24 hours. While most domain registries conduct scheduled maintenance that would impact the SRS at some level and for several hours at a time I don't think I've ever seen a relatively large domain registry plan a 24 hour outage before. ICANN Publish New TLD Timeline

Last night ICANN published a timeline for the new TLD process moving forward. They also revealed that there were currently 500 new TLD applications that had not been completed. Whether they will be completed by 2359 UTC tonight remains to be seen, but I doubt if they'll all get done in less than 24 hours.
